Male body found; one killed, two injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Aug 21: An unknown male body of age about 50 years was recovered today from Rajinder Park area while a person was killed and two others were injured today in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the dead body of a man appears to be beggar was spotted this morning near Rajinder Park by some passersby who informed the police. He said that a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for identification/postmortem.
Meanwhile, a speeding mini-bus bearing registration number JK02A-7536 tonight hit a pedestrian near Stadium Morh, Channi Himmat. In the mishap, the pedestrian namely Ram Lal, resident of Chattisgarh (at present Sector 6, Channi Himmat) sustained serious injuries. He was immediately taken to GMCH Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem.
A pedestrian identified as Rajeev Mahajan (58) son of Chaman Lal Mahajan, resident of Subash Nagar, was hit and injured by a speeding scooty near AG office in the jurisdiction of police station Bakshi Nagar. An unknown female pedestrian of age about 40 years was also hit and injured by a rashly driven car near Shakuntla Theatre. Both the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
In all four cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
