KATRA, Dec 12: A major fire broke out in forests of Trikuta Hills housing Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, here this evening.
According to police, the fire has engulfed a big area adjoining Adh-kunwari but at a considerable distance from the track and therefore there was no affect on the pilgrimage.
The fire was noticed in the late evening and the blazes were spreading in more area in the Trikuta hills. No effort could be initiated to control the fire till last reports came in.
Cause of the fire could not be ascertained, Police added.
