Major crackdown on illegal mining, 3 vehicles seized

POONCH, Feb 29: In a significant move against illegal mining activities, a joint team comprising the Mining Department and the police, conducted series of targeted operations across the district and seized several vehicles for illegal mining.
The crackdown led to the confiscation of three vehicles a Tractor, Tipper and an excavator. A dump of riverbed material (RBM) at Pamrote was also seized.
These vehicles were being employed for the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minor minerals, causing extensive harm to the environment and disrupting the ecological balance of the area.
In addition to the vehicle seizures, a team from the mining department also verified e-challans of vehicles engaged in transporting minor minerals across different parts of the district.
