Mahant Rohit meets JKTDC MD, lays stress on promoting religious tourism

SRINAGAR, June 7: President of Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sanathan Trust, Mahant Rohit Shastri today met Additional Secretary in the office of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, currently Director of Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) of J&K and MD of J&K Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) Minga Sherpa and emphasized on promoting religious tourism in the Union Territory.
During the meeting, Mahant Rohit Shastri informed MD JKTDC about the social work being done by the Trust to promote Devvani Sanskrit language and presented him “Dharmasthali” book.
Shastri told Minga Sherpa that all the ancient temples of J&K should be brought on the tourism map. He said tourists will get acquainted with the history of religious places if these places are brought on the tourism map. He also emphasized on development of religious places so that more and more tourists visit there which in turn will give employment to local youth and boost the economic condition of the UT.
He said that under Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, the UT is moving forward on the path of development.
