Mahajan Sabha to set-up library

JAMMU, Oct 21: Following the foot-prints of Sher-e-Duggar, Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, a great social reformer and founder of many organizations at Jammu (J&K), the Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha has decided to set-up a library on modern lines at 2nd floor of the Mahajan Sabha building, Sabzi Mandi Jammu.
Decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of the Mahajan Sabha, held under the chairmanship of Romesh Chander Gupta, President of the Mahajan Sabha. The Mahajan Sabha building at Sabzi Mandi Jammu, which comprises of a big hall with attached office room, will provide valuable books for scholars, learners and students to add luster in their research work.
This library would be named as “Lala Hans Raj Mahajan Library”. For this purpose, a committee comprising of some education experts would be set up to chalk-out the modalities of the desired library. It would be fully funded by Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha.
This would add another feather in the cap of Jammu Mahajan community which already runs a number of units such as Lala Hans Raj Mahajan Child & Women Society, Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan Charitable Hospital, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, and pension to widows, financial assistance to needy persons and students etc for the social development of the people.
