Maha Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak celebrated at Nagrota Asthapan

JAMMU, Dec 24: The Maha Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak popularly known as Kak Sahab was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety at his Nagrota Asthapan near here, today.
A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Asthapan to participate in the celebrations and paid obeisance to the mystic saint of medieval Kashmir.
A Hawan was also solemnized on the occasion which started yesterday evening and culminated with Puranhauti today. Bhajan Kirtan was also held by devotees and they were served with Prasahd after Puranhauti.
The devotees offered milk and flowers and also held Samuhik prayers at the Asthapan of Swami Ji which is the replica of his original Samadhi at village Hangalgund in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The replica of Samadhi was constructed at Nagrota soon after the mass exodus of the Pandits by the Swami Mirzakak Trust since then the annual Jag and Maha Jayanti functions are held every year by the devotees.
Swami Mirzakak’s Vaakhs (verses) which have been compiled in book form by the Trust threw light on ecstasy, spirituality and Moksha.
The function was held under the supervision of Trust president Bushan Lal Hangloo and general secretary AK Raina. Speaking on the occasion they said Swami Ji was such a spiritually powerful saint who spelled a doom for tyrant ruler of Afghan who were committing atrocities on Kashmiris.
They also highlighted the objectives of the Trust and appealed the Government to restore the land of the Trust at village Hangalgund which has been illegally occupied by some unscrupulous elements.
