Madrasa education

Sir,
Please refer to the news item,” Madrasa students….. Education “published in your paper on June 12,2019 whereundder it has been reported that the Government of India has launched a number of welfare schemes for modernization of Madrasa education in the country which includes training for madrasa teachers and change in curriculum of these institutions. Besides, the Government is also going to provide free coaching services for the students of minority communities including, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians etc but there is no mention of other minorities like Budhists, Jainies and Economically weaker sections of Hindus.
Regarding modernization of Madrasa education, there seems no justification for Government intervention, because these are the religious institutions run by Muslim community for the promotion of Islam. Any interference by Government can irk the concerned schools. However,if the Government is much interested in the matter,it should go for establishment of Multipurpose religious institutions to impart religious education to all sections of society which will also facilitate comparative religious education to all those people who are interested for it.
