Later talking to reporters on the sidelines of party programme, Madhav said the NDA Government has given India a “sense of security” and there has been “no terror incident” in the country in the last five years.
The BJP national general secretary said the surgical strike carried out by the Army in 2016 had conveyed a strong message to terrorists.
“We have given a sense of security to this country. We have ensured a strong security setup in the country,” Madhav said.
” …There has been no terror incident in this country in the last five years,” he added.
Comparing the NDA with the previous governments, Madhav said, “Earlier Pakistani terrorists used to come inside (our country), engineer terror attacks and kill civilians.”
He added that no terrorist was allowed to enter India and carry out an attack during the NDA Government’s tenure.
“Instead, we entered their country and taught them a lesson,” Madhav said.
“By undertaking the surgical strike, we have conveyed a strong message to them. (We told them) what can happen if they indulge in any mischief,” he said.
The BJP leader asserted that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi-led Government had a strong policy against terrorism and was committed to moving in the direction of neutralizing the last terrorist in the Valley.
Madhav said the NDA Government has ensured security, honour and dignity for the country.
He also lashed out at the Opposition, accusing it of obstructing Modi from moving towards realizing the dream of a New India.
Madhav said the Government’s report card was before the people and it had put in place such security measures that no riot took place in the last five years.
On the economic front, he claimed, India was the only developing nation with a growth rate of 7.2 percent.
He said India would emerge as one of the world’s three biggest economic powers.
In response to a question that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi was leveling corruption allegations against PM, Madhav said Rahul Gandhi has no respect for Indian Constitution. It is an old saying that “Ulta Choor Kotwal Ko Dantay”. It is the same thing that a thief is pointing fingers towards the Chowkidar (watchman), the BJP leader added.
On CAG, he said it is a Constitutional Institution and every body has to respect CAG and must respect the Constitutional institutions and those who don’t respect often talk such language.
The BJP leader made it clear that no Government will be possible in the State without his party. He said BJP is emerging stronger and stronger day by day and exuded confidence that this time the party’s tally, which got 25 seats in last Assembly elections, will increase.
He asked the partymen to give BJP a decisive mandate this time. Maintaining that Party has a strong base in Jammu, Madhav said the people of Jammu always supported the party and they will continue to trust it in future too.
He said this time again the party will win both the Lok Sabha seats from Jammu region and it will not only repeat the trend of 2014 Assembly poll but perform much better than that 2019 elections.
Madhav, said the Assembly poll in the State can be held with Lok Sabha elections or after that as the Election Commission deems fit. He asked his party cadre to strengthen the base of party from grassroot level by empowering the party’s basic worker in the village.
Madhav, while claiming that BJP is the only savior of the Jammu people and their rights, said some Kashmir centric parties including NC and PDP are trying to forge a pre poll alliance with Congress. “These parties are trying to frame a ‘Gathbandhan’ in the State too”, he added.
He said the opposition parties who have forged the ‘Mahagatbandan’ or ‘Mahamilawat’ in a bid to stop Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s victory ‘rath’ (chariot) will never succeed in their vicious designs.
He asked party cadres to work hard and try to put more seats from Jammu region inBJP’s kitty with the blessings of people of the region.
Madhav said during his recent visit to Jammu, PM Narendra Modi got overwhelming response from the people of this region which shows that Jammuites love him.
Stressing that BJP has to maintain equal pace of development and progress in all three regions of the State including Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu, he termed granting of Divisional status to Ladakh a historical decision and this way the people of the region will also get the due share of funds for progress and development.
Later addressing a meeting organized by Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) Jammu, Madhav said that country’s GDP has increased tremendously under Modi rule and India is a leading country among the developing nations now.
He highlighted various welfare measures of Modi Government for poor, women, farmers and traders. Showing full solidarity with traders’ cause, he asked the CCI leadership to take up the issue through State Government regarding abolishing Toll Tax. He said BJP is abreast of this problem and the Government will look into it.
Earlier, Chamber president, Rakesh Gupta, highlighted the problems regarding delay in establishing Rail coach factory, demanded outsourcing of Super Specialty Hospital and creation of jobs on district wise to tackle the growing unemployment problem.
