Mader-e-Meharban Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research celebrates Annual Day

SRINAGAR, July 10: Mader-e-Meharban Institute of Nursing Sciences and Research (MMINSR) SKIMS completed its four decade of existence with celebration of 7th College Annual Day at SKICC, here today.
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar was the chief guest on the occasion. He said the role of Nursing has been amplified during the Covid pandemic. He expressed his gratitude to all the COVID warriors particularly Nurses. “Their role is critical in patient output services and are real angels and providing healing touch to the sick patients.
Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary UT of J&K, graced the occasion as guest of honour. He acknowledged the role of nursing as crucial and said fifty percent of the staff in hospitals work as Nurses who serve as link between doctor and patient and deserve all salutations and appreciation for their services.

While divulging details, he said 12 new Nursing Colleges will be opened and with this expansion which is aimed to strengthen health sector further will also open new job opportunities and avenues. He further added 1000 Nurses appointed in various hospitals in addition to 400 Nurses were appointed in two recently opened DRDO Hospitals at Jammu & Srinagar.
Director SKIMS, Dr A. G Ahangar highlighted the importance of Critical Care Nursing, which he said has gained much attention in times of ongoing pandemic. He underscored the importance of teaching faculty and requested the Government to address the shortage of faculty at various medical institutions in UT of J&K. He maintained that the accountability and audit of teaching faculty is essential in the growth and thus flourishing of the Institution.
Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS, Dr Omar Javed Shah highlighted the contribution of Mader-e-Meharban Institute in Nursing education by producing huge and skilled manpower who are serving community at various levels. He requested administration for taking firm steps in recruitment of faculty and staff which is backbone of any teaching/ training Institute.
Principal MMINSR, Dilshada in Principals report, highlighted academic and research activities of the Institute.
Memmoir & Sovenior of MMINSR highlighting academic & research activities of the college was also released and meritorious students were felicitated on the occasion. The Teaching Faculty was also felicitated and honoured acknowledging their contribution in shaping up of the careers of the students.
