Akhnoor, Oct. 15 : Veteran Congress leader and former MP Madan Lal Sharma has appealed Government of India to devise a package covering insurance to life, property , cattle and crop of the Inhabitants of border areas apart from providing alternate shelters at safer places and special recruitment.
Addressing a series of public meetings at Ambaran, Sunail, Balgara in Akhnoor Constituency Mr Sharma said that border Inhabitants have faced the double brunt of border fury by Pakistan and floods. He demanded their proper rehabilitation.
Mr. Sharma lauded the work done by MLA Akhnoor & Minister PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma with regard to overall development of Akhnoor and termed Akhnoor as one of the model Constituency of the State. He congratulated the people of Akhnoor for getting maximum Administrative units and coming up of Medical education, Health and other developmental infrastructure at Akhnoor. He further added that during his tenure as R&B Minister he has laid a net of roads and gave a new strengthen to the connectivity in Akhnoor. Mr. Sharma said that in view of farflung and backward nature of some areas in Akhnoor Constituency people of Akhnoor must pose their faith in the present leadership for addressing the pending issues and upliftment of Akhnoor.
