JAMMU, Sept 20: Chairman of Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPP) Pvt Ltd, M Y Khan today inaugurated its new Chenab Jal Shakti Bhawan at Rail Head Complex here today.
After the commissioning of this new Corporate Office in presence of directors and other several senior officers, the Sixth annual general meeting of Chenab Valley Power Projects (P) Ltd was held today under chairmanship of Khan.
The 36th Board meeting was also held during the day. CVPP is a joint venture company of NHPC, JKSPDC and PTC Ltd.
A CVPP spokesman said that all the statutory clearances and appraisal from CEA, MOEF&CC and Govt of J&K of Pakal Dul (1000 MW), Kiru (624 MW) and Kwar (540 MW) Hydro Electric Projects have already obtained by CVPP. The tenders of all the major works of Pakal and Kiru Projects have already been issued and tenders for civil works of Kwar Project has also been invited.
The bids received for Power House package of Pakal Dul and civil works package of Kiru Projects are under evaluation. Construction of both the projects is likely to be started this year, subject to the sanction of various exemptions from GoJK and investment approval from Govt of India in respect of Kiru Project. The road works at various approach sites viz. Power House area and diversion tunnel outlet of Pakal Dul Project and road works at DT inlet & outlet and Dam top of Kiru Project is going on in full swing so that construction of the projects can be taken soon after the award of contract, he added.
The spokesman said that disbursement of compensation for acquisition of private land of Pakal Dul and Kiru Projects is being expedited. The approved rehabilitation and resettlement plan of Pakal Dul Project is also under implementation and disbursement to the project affected families has been started.
In the Board meeting, approval is accorded for release of payment towards land compensation for acquisition of private and state land for Kwar Project. In the 6th AGM of CVPP, the authorised share capital of the company has been increased from Rs 1500 crores to Rs 2500 crores.
The Board meeting and AGM was attended by Shah Faisal, MD JKSPDC, Balraj Joshi, Director Technical, NHPC, MK Mittal Director Finance, NHPC and MS Babu Managing Director CVPP besides representatives of NHPC, JKSPDC and PTC Ltd.
