JAMMU, July 16: Lalded Women Welfare Society today staged a Nukkad play ‘Fraud’ under its Saturday series. The play was written and directed by Naveen Pal.
Through the play the playwright has sought to convey the message that the people tend to do fraud of one nature or the other. Once a person namely Sham whose son is unemployed is very anxious about job for his ward. He is holding a view that if his son gets a good job then his son’s future will be bright. He tells his problem to his friend that his son is unemployed. His friend tells him not to worry about his son’s job and that he would himself arrange job for him.
Sham is now very happy that his son will get job. Then his friend tells him that his son would get a job but for that he will have to shell out some amount of money. To this sham first hesitates but later agrees to give money for getting a job for his son.
He pays the money and in turn he is told to send his son in a particular company for job the next day. Next day when his son goes to the company, he does not get any job in the company. He comes back to the home and tells everything to his father. When Sham goes to his friend, he clearly refuses to having received any money for arranging a job for his son. He comes back to his home and sits silently. After a while he tells his wife and son that his friend has turned out to be a cheat and done fraud with him.
Those who performed in the play were director Naveen Paul, Ashish Bhatti and Mrs Santosh Basotra besides other artists of the group.
