JAMMU, June 27: Bimla Luthra, Member Legislative Assembly distributed cheques amounting to Rs 2,500 each as stipend among 50 inmates of Cutting and Tailoring Centres being run by Social Welfare Department at Delar Kota in R S Pura Constituency and Bishnah Constituency, today.
She also provided remuneration of ten months amounting to Rs 50,000 to instructors and helpers of these craft centres.
Speaking on the occasion, Luthra said that Omar led Government has embarked on a big mission to ameliorate the lot of poor and down trodden. “Welfare schemes launched by the Government in social sector have helped to improve the lot of poor, especially the women”, she said, adding that imparting training in various crafts to the targeted segments will help in their economic emancipation.
