JAMMU, Feb 17: J&K National Conference (NC) Women Wing vice president, Bimla Luthra here today claimed that bold initiative by NC in women reservation at grassroots level democratic institutions and 50 per cent seats in medical colleges paved way for carving out a big role for them in different spheres.
Addressing women wing workers at Chohala village Luthra said, due to focus on female literacy, time has come when girls are excelling in academics in a big way.
She also claimed role of NC in socio-political empowerment and economic emancipation of women.
“Given opportunity, the J&K women have proven to be second to none and in fact they are proving their worth by putting in best in their chosen fields,” Luthra said.
She asked the women to play their role in shaping the destiny of J&K and steering it to peace, progress and development.
The NC leader urged party women to intensify mass outreach in their areas and work for redressal of the problems of women.
Kirti, Komal, Bharti, Jyoti, Savita, Rani and Tikli were also present on the occasion.
