SRINAGAR, Nov 18: General Officer Commanding- in-Chief   Lt Gen D S Hooda and others senior officers today paid rich tributes to Col Santosh Mahadik who attained martyrdom while fighting with the militants in Kupwara sector of Kashmir yesterday.
Colonel Santosh Mahadik, Commanding Officer, 41 Rashtriya Rifles attained martyrdom at Kupwara district of J&K while leading a column of troops against terrorists from the LeT on November 17.
Lt Gen DS Hooda, Army Commander, Northern Command moved to Srinagar from Udhampur Command headquarters and paid tributes to the brave martyr in a ceremony organised at Badami Bagh Cantonment.  Several senior officers of the Chinar Corps also joined Northern Army Commander to lay wreath.
The mortal remains were flown to Satara, Maharashtra from Udhampur Airfield where again tributes were paid to the brave colonel by Lieutenant General NPS Hira, Chief of Staff, Northern Command.
