NEW DELHI, Jan 30: Lt Gen Anil Chauhan on Tuesday assumed charge as the new Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of the Indian Army, replacing Lt Gen AK Bhatt.
Lt Gen Bhatt will assume charge of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps. Lt Gen Chauhan has held several important posts in the Army and is known for his expertise in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast.
He was earlier commander of the Dimapur-based 3 Corps. Lt Gen Chouhan had also served as military observer for UN peacekeeping mission in Angola. (UNI)
