LPG plant conducts mock fire drill

JAMMU, Dec 27: The LPG Plant of Jammu today conducted “Mock fire drill” based on disaster control management plan. The fire drill was witnessed by J K Verma, Inspector of Factories Jammu Division and officials from IOCL, JK Fire Services Department, JK Police, ESIC Hospitals and other mutual aid partners.
The drill was conducted at bulk LPG Storage area with team officials & workers fighting fire from all the corners with the help of state of Art technology safety equipments and auto fire fighting system of the plant.
The fire fighting teams were led by HPCL officers, JK Fire Services men and ESIC Hospital Medical staff also contributed in the drill.
Mohammed Zubeer Banday-Safety Officer HPCL Jammu explained the importance of conducting the mock fire drills, which equips the person with complete confidence fighting the actual fire. He also appreciated the participation of fire service men healing out the fire fighting with the help of the fire tenders and emphasized the immediate response within first few minutes of fire, which was excellent in the mock drill.
He said that apart from showing preparedness to meet any eventuality such drills are also aimed at inviting valuable suggestions from the viewers for further improvement.
J K Verma appreciated the fire fighting practice and equipments of HPCL LPG plant and sis that mock exercises are necessary to keep the staff alert and fire fighting machinery in working condition.
