SRINAGAR, May 30: Legal Metrology Department Kashmir today booked an LPG dealer in Srinagar for delivering underweight refill LPG cylinders in old city area of Srinagar.
The delivery boy was found supplying the LPG refills to consumers without weighing. As per Supreme Court ruling the LPG cylinders are to be delivered to the consumers after weighing in front of the consumer. Moreover, the voucher-book was found without the entry of cost of refill gas. The weighting test of LPG cylinders was conducted on spot and one LPG cylinder was found about one kilogram lesser in weight. The LPG retailer was booked under section 39 of Standards of Weights and Measures Act of 1997.
The inspecting team also booked and penalized a dispensing pump for short deliver. A fine of Rs 5000 was imposed on spot for the lapse. The team also booked a reputed Dhabba at Boulevard for offering for sale the chocolates in packaged form without the mention of mandatory declarations such as Net Weight and MRP.
