JAMMU, June 12: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) has extended support to the demands of the protesting Rehber-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers working under centrally sponsored scheme like SSA and RMSA.
In a statement issued, Abdul Majid Khan, President, LPEF said on the directions of Chief Minister funds have reportedly been provided to pay the salary arrears and a committee has also reportedly been set up to go into their grievances, yet their other demands are required to be addressed and redressed amicably soon in order to relieve them from undue miseries and hardships they are facing alongwith their families.
He drew the attention of Government towards another section of employees appointed under New Pension Scheme (NPS) who are not paid salary unless matching grant is received by the DDOs of respective departments. Similarly Anganwari workers and helpers, Patwaris and Girdawars are struggling for redressal of their demands which are required to be attended on priority basis, he added.
He stated that divergent sections of daily wage workers are not paid wages for months rather years together thus pushing them and their dependents to suffer starvation especially when the price of almost all the essential goods of daily consumption are soaring sky high day by day due to anti people and anti working class policies by the successive Central and State Governments. All these issues deserve priority attention of the Government, Khan said.
