SRINAGAR, Aug 25: All J&K Low Paid Govt Employees Federation (AJKLPGEF) Kashmir projected their demands at one day convention held at Sonamarg in Kashmir today.
Abdul Majid Khan, state president of the Federation was the chief guest while chief organizer, Mohd Shaban Bhat, presided over the conference. A large number of delegates from all over Kashmir and parts of Jammu attended the programme.
The speakers projected the burning issues of the low paid workers and recalled their miseries in view of price hike and silence of the Government over the pending issues of the employees and pensioners. They claimed that there was strong resentment brewing among the working class against the present PDP-BJP Government.
Earlier, Mohd Javed Shah, general secretary, gave brief account of the activities of the Federation and its achievements. He also raised the burning issues of the employees and stressed upon the Government to implement 7th Pay Commission report without any delay and enhance Medical allowance of the employees and pensioners.
Abdul Majid Khan in his address said that low paid employees and pensioners are reeling under the onslaught of sky rocketing prices due to anti-employee and anti-people policies of the Government. He expressed concern over the delay being caused by the Government over the release of 7th Pay Commission report. He demanded that it should be implemented on the Central pattern without any more delay.
Khan also demanded regularization of all type of temporary workers , enhancement of Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month, revision of minimum daily wage rate, holding of DPC in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, filling up of vacant posts in PHE Kashmir, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre and resolve all other pending demands of the Government employees and pensioners.
Senior trade unionists, Nazir Ahmed Magray -president KEEWA, Abdul Rashid Bhat -president LPEF Anantnag, Abdul Satar Mir -president Pensioners Association , Mohd Latif Mir -president Daily Wage Workers Union Kashmir also spoke on the occasion.
