It is a belief among the Hindus that the people who participate in the yatra and have darshan of Lord Jagannath attain Moksha (emancipation). The yatra was organised by Shri Jagannath Sewa Sansthan Trust Jammu. The devotees were taking the Sawari of Lord Jagannath on a specially decorated rath on their shoulders and people enroute had come in large numbers on roads to pay obeisance to lord. The devotees displaying religious flags were cleaning the road from where the yatra proceeded. The authorities had also made elaborate arrangements and the traffic was diverted to other routes for smooth conduct of yatra. The authorities had also made adequate security arrangements to avert any untoward incident during the yatra.
