Lone inaugurates workshop on “Vocationalization in Hr Edu”

SRINAGAR, Aug 7: Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone today inaugurated 2-day workshop on “Vocationalization in Higher Education & Baseline Survey” at Amar Singh College.
The workshop has been organized by Mission Directorate Rashtriya Ucchitar Sikhsha Abhiyan (RUSA) to device modalities for introduction of vocational education and conducting baseline survey in higher education.
Secretary, Higher Education Department Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad, Director RUSA, Mir Jahangir and Nodal Principal Kashmir Division Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Chatt were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lone said that Government has launched several programmes for providing quality higher education coupled with modern technological trends for the students of the State. He said the workshop assumes greater significance in view of the fact that a new Directorate (Mission Directorate RUSA) has been established in higher education sector for vocational education, upgradation of infrastructure in colleges / universities and creation of new cluster universities.
With the initiative of organizing two days workshop, the Directorate RUSA formally took off.
Besides, Viviek Nagpal from Union Ministry of Human Resources Development, the workshop was attended by Academicians, Experts from Universities/Colleges and other educational institutions across the State.
