JAMMU, Sept 17: In order to streamline the functioning of the Jammu University by removing non-performing and controversial officers, the Minister for Higher Education, Mohd Akbar Lone is shortly going to meet the Governor, N N Vohra, who is also the Chancellor of the varsity.
Disclosing this to EXCELSIOR, Mr Lone said, “I appreciate the decision of Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof M P Singh Ishar to remove Prof Keshav Sharma from the post of Chief Coordinator Campuses as well as Rector of the Udhampur campus”.
“There are some more non-performing and controversial officers, who need to be shunted out in order to streamline the functioning of the varsity”, he said, adding “I have decided to meet Governor shortly to discuss the steps required to be taken so that action is taken against those officers whose activities have been affecting the functioning and overall image of the varsity”.
It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday, Vice-Chancellor removed Prof Keshav Sharma from all the key positions following numerous complaints against him. It is hoped that if such elements are kept out of the key positions the functioning of varsity would receive required impetus.
