SRINAGAR : As the suspense over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir continued, the lone Communist Party of India (M) MLA Mohammad Yousuf Targami rushed to Delhi this afternoon.
Mr Targami, who was re-elected for the fourth time from Kulgam constituency, left for New Delhi this afternoon. “I am going to Delhi to attend the Polit Bureau meeting,” he
told UNI from Srinagar airport.
He said he will be meeting senior party leaders before returning back to Srinagar after a couple of days. Asked about newspaper reports that Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) lone member Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has decided to support BJP in government formation in the state, Mr Targami said Mr Yaseen has since denied the report. PDF is a constituent of Awami Mutahida Mahaaz (AMM), headed by Mr Targami.
The AMM put up large number of candidates, but Mr Hakeem and Mr Targami were elected to 12th Assembly. Mr Hakeem has won from Khansahib constituency for the third time.
