RAJOURI, Aug 1: A Lok Adalat held today in District Court Complex under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Rajouri, today settled about 47 cases including civil, petty criminal and insurance.
Two benches were constituted. The first bench was comprised of Principal District and Sessions Judge Rajouri (presiding Officer MACT), Sanjay Gupta and Additional District and Sessions Judge, Rajouri, MA Khan while the second bench was comprised of Surinder Singh CJM (Sub-Judge), Rajouri and Muzaffar Iqbal Khan, District Mobile Magistrate, Rajouri.
In the Lok Adalat eight MACT cases of insurance companies were taken up and all were settled through meditation and reconciliation, and an amount of Rs 430000 was awarded as compensation. 45 civil and petty criminal cases were also taken up out of which 39 were disposed off..
