PULWAMA, Dec 2: A Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex here under the chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Judge Pulwama Abdul Rashid Malik.
A large number of victims of vehicular accidents participated in the Lok Adalat.
A total of 8000 cases have been referred to the National Lok Adalat to be held on December 6, in Town Hall Pulwama. Cases relating to maintenance, family disputes, civil disputes, matrimonial disputes, MACT cases, land acquisition cases, revenue cases, traffic cases, cases under municipal act, grievances of flood victims, grievances relating to women, children and disabled have been referred to the National Lok Adalat. Award for Rs. 1 crore were drawn up where the companies agreed to pay the compensation to the victims within ten days.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey (Administrative Judge for District Pulwama) will inaugurate the National Lok Adalat at Pampore and Pulwama on December 6.
