Lockdown in Kashmir lacks implementation, people confused: BJP

Srinagar, May 5: BJP’s Kashmir Unit today said people of Kashmir are confused about the implementation of lockdown because it is not enforced on the ground.
The party urged the administration either to impose strict lockdown in the valley or lift restrictions completely as the Srinagar administration has failed to contain the virus at all ends.
Party’s Kashmir Media In-charge and youth leader Manzoor Bhat in a statement issued said that it is unfortunate that despite lockdown, heavy traffic jams were witnessed in Srinagar city and it shows how city administration has failed all ends to curb the COVID-19 infections.
“People are confused about the lockdown, nor the administration is doing anything to implement it on the ground and police has also become a mute spectator on the issue,” he said,
He urged the LG administration, either to impose a strict lockdown or lift all the restrictions in Kashmir. Passenger vehicles are openly violating the Covid19 guidelines and while lockdown has been only restricted to the closing of shops.
He urged police to keep a check on COVID-19 violations and urged them to work effectively.
Bhat appealed to LG Manoj Sinha and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole to look into the issue and so that lockdown may yield some good results for the benefit of the common people.
