UDHAMPUR, Sept 26: Aggrieved over worst condition of Latti to Jakhed road, locals of Jakhed today protested against PWD authorities and district administration.
Shouting slogans against the concerned authorities, the protesting villagers were demanding immediate repair and black topping of this 15-km long road from Latti to Jakhed.
The protesting villagers, rued that despite repeated requests to the District administration and the PWD authorities, the road was not repaired since years with the result that plying vehicles are prone to accident on this stretch, which becomes extremely slippery during the rainy days.
According to Ravi Kumar, Suram Chand and Sanjeev Atri, the villagers and particularly students face extreme hardships to reach their destinations because of poor road conditions but there was no needful action by the concerned authorities.
The villagers threatened to march towards the District headquarter if the repair and blacktopping work is not immediately started.
