Locals protest against shortage of teaching staff

UDHAMPUR, July 4: Locals staged a protest demonstration against the Education Department for shortage of teaching staff in Panchari area, here today.
The protest was organised under the supervision of Jaswant Singh, Govind Singh, Parbhat Singh and others at Panchari, wherein the protestors were chanting slogans against the Department for providing adequate teaching staff.
They alleged that five Govt Higher Secondary School (GHSS) were facing dearth of lecturers in various streams but the department concerned failed to appoint requisite staff in these Secondary Schools. “In GHSS Lander, the sanctioned strength is 14 (Lecturers) but only three are available, while GHSS Mongri only five Lecturers serving nearly 400 student that too without Principal and GHSS Damnot only four have been deputed over 298 students, besides GHSS Panchari is running with eight Lecturers,” they asserted.
The protestors said that due to acute shortage of the staff, the students are facing a lot of problems regarding their subjects and the department concerned seems least bothered about it and they appealed to the LG administration to fill the vacant posts as soon as possible.
