UDHAMPUR, Feb 29: Locales today held a protest against insensitive attitude of the Udhampur Municipal Committee (UMC) towards open drains and main holes in Udhampur town.
They raised slogans against the Municipal authorities and demanded that all the open drains, particularly the main holes, be covered to avoid mishaps. “In Ward number 13, lane in forint of Girls Middle School has four main holes without cover and similar open main holes are found in every part of the city thus creating trouble to the pedestrians and also for the vehicle riders,” they said.
They also rued that despite repeated appeals to the Municipal authorities, no action has yet been taken to cover these main holes.
