REASI, June 29: Vehicular traffic on the Reasi- Baradari road was disrupted for nearly an hour on Wednesday as people blocked the road in protest against erratic supply of power and drinking water in their area.
The locals of Seela area, including women and children came on road demanding proper water and electricity supply to them. Former Minister Ajay Nanda also joined the protesting people and demanded early redressal of their grievance.
It is pertinent to mention here that the water supply in district Reasi has disrupted due to ongoing strike of PHE daily wagers while the erratic power supply is multiplying the problem.
The protesters alleged that no concrete measures were being taken to address the “chaotic situation”. The situation is especially bad in rural areas, which receive four to six hours of supply daily in intervals that last from a few minutes to a maximum of a couple of hours, they added.
