Locals demand repair of Tander to Pakhlai road

UDHAMPUR, Nov 18: Demanding repair of the road from Sabzi Mandi Tander to Fourway Pakhlai, people of several villages, including Tander, Nagulta, Noti, Narada, Svena, Charat and Pakhlai today threatened a strong protest if their long pending demand is not immediately considered.
The warning was issued during a meeting, led by local DDCs, BDCs and Sarpanches, held here today at Government Middle School, Chenani.
The road adjacent to the canal coming from Ghadiya (Benisagam) to Pakhlai was constructed in the year 1960 with the help of Electricity Development Cooperation but has not been repaired since then.
The villagers said that despite repeated requests to the concerned authorities, including DC Udhampur, Executive Engineer PDC Udhampur, then MLA of the area, no action was taken on their demand.
They warned protest dharnas if the road is not repaired by the concerned agency and the district administration.
