REASI, Feb 28: Dysfunctional street lights on Reasi- Sula Park road are causing immense hardship to the visitors and locals as these faulty lights are hampering free movement of people during night hours.
It is also creating a sense of insecurity among the walkers as this road is commonly used for walking by locals. The road comes under complete darkness in the evening and commoners in general and masses in particular face immense hardships, said an evening walker.
Female walkers complained that with no lights on this main road, menace of monkeys increases and now they avoid to walk on this road. The road leading from Sula Park to Reasi is the entrance point to Reasi city but the concerned authorities are in deep sleep and may be waiting for some mishap, said an irked local. He further said the some of the lights were removed for repairing about 4-5 months back but were never installed back. Few lights are still installed on the poles but for only decoration purpose with fuse bulbs, he added.
The locals urged the administration to install street lights on this main road on priority basis as this road is the main entrance road for the Reasi city.
