JAMMU, May 7: A live mortar shell was safely defused in Ramgarh sector of Samba district today, officials said.
They said the shell was spotted at Koulpur Devak area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh during a search operation launched by a team of Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Accordingly, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was rushed to the spot to assess the situation, officials said.
“After necessary examination, the shell was later safely defused at an uninhabited place,” they said.
