Liquor smuggling bid foiled, one arrested

Rajouri, Oct 6: Foiling a major liquor smuggling bid, Rajouri police today arrested a man and recovered one hundred bottles of liquor from his possession which he was taking towards a village for sale among people thereby leading to social chaos.
A police team headed by Incharge PP Chingus, SI Sanjay Raina under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Rajouri Govind Rattan was on routine vehicle checking Naka at Kallar Chatyar when a motor cycle JK11A 8570 being driven by Mohd Amin son of Mohd Bashir resident of Richwa, at present Chingus was intercepted and checked.
During checking, police party found 100 numbers of quarters (mini-bottles) of liquor, 180 ml each, in a gunny bag which was being smuggled.
Liquor along with motorcycle was seized on spot and driver has been arrested.
A case FIR no 549/18 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri in this connection.
