JAMMU, Aug 11: A lineman of Power Development Department (PDD) died due to electrocution in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
“The deceased was identified as Babu Ram son of Bishamber Dass, resident of Gurha Brahmana,” a police official said. He said Babu Ram accidentally came in contact with a live wire of the power transformer near his residence, late last night and killed on the spot.
According to the official, the dead body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after postmortem at SDH Akhnoor while Akhnoor police had taken cognizance of the matter.
