JAMMU, Mar 18: A daily wager lineman was electrocuted when he was engaged at work in Malik Market Narwal area today.
The deceased has been identified as Fiaz Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed. The mishap took place at around 10 am when the daily rated worker was working on an electric pole at Malik Market under the supervision of concerned field staff of Sub Division Green Belt Park, Division II Gandhi Nagar. Suddenly the feeder was put on and the lineman got electrocuted. The dead body was shifted to GMC Hospital by police. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
The Linemen and Workers Union has demanded probe into the matter and compensation for the family members of the deceased.
