POONCH, May 7: A lineman was killed due to negligence of staff while he was working on a pole in Gursai area of district Poonch today.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Munshi, resident of Kallar Morha in Mendhar. The incident took place at Parat village this afternoon. The lineman was working on an electric pole for restoration of power supply to the area and there was shut down from the power station.
Suddenly, somebody at the power station released the power and the lineman was trapped in the live wires and killed on the spot. The Gursai Police has registered a case of negligence against the PDD staff on duty. The SDM Mendhar has ordered inquiry into the matter.
