JAMMU, July 30: A PDD lineman was killed while his accomplice received serious injuries due to electrocution at Gangyal area of city outskirts, late last night.
According to the reports, the lineman identified as Nitin Kumar (27) son of Des Raj, a resident of RS Pura, and his other accomplice namely Chaman Lal (40) son of Maru Ram, a resident of Vijaypur, were busy in repairing an electric line at Gangyal area when they received severe electric shock.
In serious condition, both were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Nitin was declared as brought dead while Chaman was responding to the treatment.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after conducting post mortem this morning.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Gangyal and further investigation started.
