Life-imprisonment awarded to 6 in murder case

JAMMU, Sept 20: Principal Sessions Judge Poonch Ashok Kumar Shavan has awarded life imprisonment and fine to the tune of Rs 25000 to six persons in a murder case.

As per prosecution story, FIR was registered on 13-03-2011 on the written complaint of one Mohd Rafiq, son of Noor Hussain of Khaitan Draba wherein he alleged that on 13-03-2011 accused persons in furtherance of common intention equipped with sharp edged weapons inflicted multiple injuries on vital part of his son Javed Iqbal.
In the attack, Noor Hussain and other family members also received injuries. Charge sheet subsequently was filed against 09 accused persons whereas 05 accused persons faced the trial from the inception, one accused lady later on surrendered before the court and 03 accused persons are still absconding in the instant case FIR.
Today, Principal Sessions Judge held all the accused persons guilty and awarded them life imprisonment for offence under Section 302/RPC apart from punishment under Sections 307/325/323/147/148/RPC.
Maqbool Hussain, Public Prosecutor appeared for UT and Advocates Maroof Ahmed Khan, Anuj Kapoor and Dheeraj Kour appeared on behalf of accused persons. The convicted persons are Lal Hussain, Munshi Khan, Razia Bi, Altaf, Latief and Naik Mohd, all residents of Surankote.
