Liberal funding from Union Govt immensely helped J&K: Bhalla

JAMMU, Aug 19:  Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation  Raman Bhalla today said that Centre’s liberal funding to the State has immensely helped Jammu and Kashmir to reach new dimensions of progress and prosperity.
The Minister said this while addressing a gathering at Bhour Kothey after kick starting construction works of link road and wall along the local nallah here today.
He asked the officers to work in a more organized manner so that the purpose of the Coalition Government for ensuring better services to the people of every area of the State could be met successfully.
Mr Bhalla asked the R&B Department to complete both the projects within time frame, for which Government has earmarked Rs 50 lakh. He said Government has taken various innovative measures to develop all the rural pockets at par with urban centers by providing all basic amenities like safe drinking water, road connectivity, healthcare, education, electricity, sewerage besides better lanes and drains. He said UPA Government has released Rs 7300 crore State annual plan including Rs 700 crore under PMGSY for construction of roads in unconnected areas of the State.
Laying stress on maintaining quality of development works, Mr.Bhalla emphasized on undertaking routine inspections to effectively monitor the implementation of projects besides ensuring use of quality material.
Responding to the demands of the people, the Minister announced Rs 11 lakh for construction of 400-meter lane and drain including its widening. He asked the executing agency to complete it within stipulated time frame for the benefit of general masses.
To improve power scenario in Bhour Kothey, Bhour Camp, Chatha and its adjoining areas, Mr. Bhalla said that instructions have been issued to PDD to shift the electricity load of the areas to Miran Sahib receiving station and Miran Sahib electricity load to Bishnah receiving station so that improved and fluctuation free power supply could be provided to the people.
The Minister said in order to overcome overloading on receiving stations at Ashok Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Canal Satwari line, Sainik Colony, Greater Kailash, Nanak Nagar, Chatha, Gaddigarh and 33 KV lines, Government has earmarked Rs 768.67 lakh for segregation of AN-2 and AN-4 feeders by way of installation of new 11 KV VCB panel alongwith accessories, thickening, Re-conductoring of 33 KV canal-Satwari line, augmentation from 1×6.3 MVA to 2×6.3 and 2x10MVA to 3x10MVA including thickening of 33 KV G-3 capacity besides shifting of partial load from loaded stations.
To cater to power requirement of people in Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat, Nanak Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Sainik Colony, Bathindi, Transport Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Bahu Fort, Residency Road, Panjthirthi etc, the Minister said that Government has allocated Rs. 5 crore for augmentation of 132/33 KV transformation capacity from 100 MVA to 150 MVA at Gladni Grid Station at Narwal.
