LGs of J&K, Ladakh extend Christmas greetings

JAMMU, Dec 24: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu has extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Christmas.
In a message, the Lt Governor said that the teachings of Jesus Christ, the apostle of peace, love, compassion and brotherhood, have been a guiding light for the humanity. He observed that the message of Lord Christ is perhaps of great relevance in our great Nation which espouses the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and ‘Ahimsa Paramo Dharma’.
The Lt Governor expressed sincere hope that this auspicious occasion would strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity and the traditions of pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir.
He prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Lt Governor Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur has greeted the Christian community of Ladakh on Christmas Eve.
In his message, Mathur expressed hope that this festivity will spread message of the benevolence of Lord Jesus Christ and usher-in peace, love and amity throughout the region, nation and the world.

LG Mathur through his message also expressed hopes that such occasions will instill and further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood in every individual and community.
