JAMMU, Mar 1: Lt Governor of J&K UT, Manoj Sinha today wrote to the Union Minister for Education and Skill Development, Dharmendra Pardhan to establish a Kendriya Vidyalya (KV) in very remote and backward area of Tehsil Latti in Dudu Sub Division of district Udhampur.
In a letter flashed to the Union Minister, Sinha said that there has been persistent demand from the public and elected representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions from remote, backward, and far-flung area of Tehsil Latti in Dudu Sub Division of district Udhampur regarding opening/establishment of KV at Latti.
” In the backdrop of the above, I take this opportunity to request you to kindly explore the possibility of opening of Kendriya Vidyalya at the aforementioned place so that talented children of this backward area may derive full benefit of quality education imparted in KVs at affordable price in coming future,” the letter said.
Pertinent to mention here that a delegation of Sarpanches from this remote area led by Sarpanch, Latti K L Gupta met the LG last week and put forth the demands of opening KV, establishment of sports stadium, a Munsiff Court, Fire Station and promotion and development of tourism in the area.
