DB grants time for filing fresh status report in PIL on NDPSA cases

JAMMU, Mar 1: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding poor investigation and prosecution of NDPSA cases, a Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh and Justice Sanjeev Kumar has granted time for filing a detailed action taken report/fresh status report positively by next date of hearing indicating steps taken with respect to qualitative and quantitative overhauling of the Forensic Science Laboratories in Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh as also comprehensive steps required to be taken for de-addiction.
“Considering the importance of the issue raised in this Public Interest Litigation, this court sought the assistance of Advocate General. It is submitted at bar that the fresh status report/Action Taken Report has been prepared and the same will be filed during the course of two days”, the DB observed.
Accordingly, DB directed that the needful be done within the period.
