LEH, Dec 6: Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Ladakh, R.K Mathur has underlined the need of good doctors, para-medic staff including lab technicians and sophisticated machinery to provide basic health benefits to the patients.
During his visit to SNM Hospital Leh today, the LG complimented the hospital for winning Swachhta awards repeatedly.
He hailed the dedication and spirit with which the staff at the hospital is serving the people.
LG Mathur was accompanied by Commissioner/ Secretary Ladakh, Rigzin Samphel; Divisional Commissioner/ Secretary Ladakh, Saugat Biswas and Deputy Commissioner Leh, Sachin Kumar. Director Health, Dr. Phunchok Angchuk accompanied by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tsering Motup and Medical Superintendent, Dr. Tsering Samphel accompanied the LG for a round of the hospital and during his visit to the wards he interacted with doctors on duty and patients and asked about their health and the services rendered by the hospital staff.
Doctors Association, nurses, lab technicians, Councillor ICTC, FMPHW and other staff members presented their grievances to the LG.
Later, the LG visited ‘Jalzom Skit-tsal’, a day-care centre at SNM hospital.
The LG also interacted with the senior citizens visiting the centre.
