JAMMU, Aug 10: Congress has accused the Centre and UT administration of failing to ensure the security of political class in the Valley, in the wake of continued attacks on the political leaders, which is highly condemnable and needs to be reversed. The Party demanding that new LG should immediately review the secure system.
In a statement JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma ( Ex-MLC) strongly condemned the recent killings and attacks on the political leaders and PRIs including Congress and BJP and termed it a matter of serious concern. He termed it nefarious design, to create fear amongst the political class in Kashmir valley and elsewhere and asked the Govt to unitedly deal with the same.
Sharma also took upon the Centre Govt and UT administration for its failures to check the increased attacks on the political class in Kashmir and elsewhere in the recent past, which are continuing and created fear amongst the people and restricted the movement of the political class.
He targeted the discriminatory and selective security policies of the UT Administration and failure of the Centre to look into the system of providing security to the vulnerable political people. He regretted that the people at the helm of affairs have favored a particular class and deprived the top opposition Congress and some other leaders of adequate security.
He charged that one of the reasons of lack of a any movement of political class in the Kashmir valley and several sensitive parts of Jammu region is the either withdrawal or total downgrading of the security of the leaders and activists of Congress party and some other opposition leaders. He said during the past one year or so, the senior Congress leaders were deliberately deprived of proper security as compared to others, and security was mostly given on the likes and dislikes of the few.
The party urged the new Lt Governor to take a holistic view of the situation and change the pattern of bias and Vendetta in the matter of security, if he wants revival of the movement of political workers to help sort out issues of suffering masses.
