LG Mathur visits Nubra Valley, meets delegations

LEH, Dec 31: Lieutenant Governor (LG) Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur visited Nubra Valley today.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar and SP CID Leh Stanzin Losal.
At Hunder, LG was received by Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh Tsering Sandup, Siachen Brigade Commander Brigadier Gurpal Singh and officers, SDM Nubra Sonam Norboo, DySP DAR Leh Ashiq Malik, Councillors and BDC Chairpersons.
LG was presented ceremonial guard of honour at Diskit on his first visit to Nubra Valley after assuming office.
At Diskit, Sangdup and various delegations of Councillors, Block Development Chairpersons, Sarpanchs, Panchs, nambardars, religious and political representatives, social groups and various other organizations of the Valley met LG Mathur with their representations.
The issues raised included road and bridge connectivity, communication, health, education, communication, tourism, irrigation, drinking water, etc.
LG gave a patient hearing to each delegation and assured of looking into issues for suitable follow up.
He also visited the Sub-District Hospital Diskit. LG also made a visit to the Diskit Monastery.
At Hunder, LG visited the Military Field Hospital.
Later, LG was given a traditional welcome at Hunder Sand dune. Village representatives and owners of double-humped camels met LG Mathur with their representations.
