NEW DELHI, Oct 18: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig (retired) BD Mishra, today inaugurated the Brand Ladakh Emporium here at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi.
The Brand Ladakh Emporium is a first-of-its-kind emporium which showcases the unique and indigenous value-added products from Ladakh in the heart of the National Capital.
A statement said that the Industries and Commerce Department, Union Territory of Ladakh, has developed the emporium to provide a platform to the artisans, SHGs, and entrepreneurs of Ladakh to market and promote their products including metal crafts, wood carved crafts, thangka paintings, pashmina shawls, stoles, mufflers, yak and sheep wool products, tie-dye shawls, organic jams, apricot oil, scrubs and several other products.
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig (Retired) BD Mishra congratulated the people of Ladakh on the opening of the emporium while as Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Sanjeev Khirwar, hoped that with the opening of second showroom under the label Brand Ladakh in New Delhi, the artisans, SHGs, and the entrepreneurs of Ladakh would get a larger market to sell their products.
Director Industries and Commerce, Ladakh, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Resident Commissioner of Ladakh, Sonam Chosdon and several other officials and entrepreneurs were present at the inaugural ceremony.
