Srinagar, May 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today directed the security agencies to carry out precise, intelligence-led operations to neutralise terrorists and dismantle support cells.

The LG passed these directions to the heads of the security agencies while chairing a Unified Headquarters meeting at Raj Bhawan to review the current security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of annual Amarnath Yatra.

The UHs discussed key strategies and broader counter-terrorism approaches to achieve the goal of terror-free Jammu and Kashmir.
The LG was given a detailed account of recently held two operations by the security forces in which six terrorists were shot dead and a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during the gun battles.
Sinha was told about the operations launched by the security agencies after the Pahalgam attack on tourists. He was informed that a massive operation against the terror networks is going on and hundreds were detained for questions and scores were booked.
The LG also reviewed the security preparedness for Amarnath Yatra scheduled from July 3 to August 9 this year.
Sinha directed the senior officials of Armed Forces, Central Reserve Police Force, Intelligence agencies and police to take all necessary action to ensure a safe and peaceful pilgrimage season.
The meeting was attended by top officials from civil administration, police and other security forces.
Sinha congratulated the Armed Forces, security agencies and Jammu and Kashmir Police for Operation Sindoor and successfully neutralising terrorists in the past few days.

Bhandari, senior officials of Armed Forces, CAPFs, J&K Police, Intelligence Agencies and civil administration.
