PAMPORE, July 15: BJP senior vice president, Yudhvir Sethi today said that Skill India Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is aimed at training youth in different fields so that they could learn, start working for themselves and even create jobs for other youth and contribute in economic development of their homes as well as State.
He said this as chief guest at the Arsh Institute of Science and Technology at Khanpoh near Pampore, here today, after distributing certificates to about 300 youth in Kashmir on completion of their skill courses in different fields.
“It’s really good to see youth coming out in large numbers to participate and celebrate world youth skills day. The mission of Skill India is on way to make India a hub of work force and make India Skill Capital of world,” said Yudhvir Sethi, who is heading this mission in J&K State.
Apprising youth about the flagship programme of the Union Government, Yudhvir Sethi said Skill India has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to train over 40 crore youth for which National Skill Development Mission has been set up with different ministries. National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Skill Loan scheme are also part of that scheme to help youth become self sufficient, he added.
The BJP leader said that this scheme is a fight against poverty and unemployment wherein trained youth can set up their small units, work with different companies, start their initiatives with small amount of money and even help generate employment. He informed that youth from all 10 districts of Kashmir were trained this Skill India programmes which was held in collaboration with TATA Institute of Social Sciences.
Arif Raja, general secretary BJP Kashmir Central, was guest of honour on the occasion while Chairman of the Institute, Mohd Anwar Khan and other faculty members of the collage also participated in the function.
